Ma Lotti bien amimee', when I was but a baby she changed my diapers when we stayed in New York for a while. Later, my mother, Maria Guadlupe, Armando's aunt, would always tell me growing up that I was always her favorite twin; Raymond being the other. My mother, myself and my brother never lost touch with Lotti. Years ago, mom, Lotti and me went to Spain together (my mother's place of birth). The three of us had such a marvelous time together. You see, Armando's mother was from the north of Spain in Asturias. Lotti, God bless her, got to know all of Armando's kin and quite simply loved them all. I remeber being at one of my cousin's weddings when a scuffle between two of my cousins broke out. Siblings whose animosity for each other had been brewing for some time. Any "se engancharon" as they say in Spanish. I remember Lotti and I just looked at each other and headed for the bar where we proceeded to order up a couple of Martinis. we just looked at each other and smirked. Those were indeed salad days. me and Lotti simply understood and loved one another. A couple of days later tooling around Oviedo together we searched and searched for a restaurant. I don't recall the reason why my Mother was not with us, but we found this charming restaurant and had a wonderfull meal and a terrific bottle of red wine. Then we traveled to Busmeon, the three of us in our rented car. We had such a good time in that small village nestled in the Peaks of Europe. Lotti had been there before with Armando so she knew how rustic it was. My uncle was still alive and the farm was still a working farm with cattle and pigs and such. Ayy La Lotti, que bien me llevaba con ella. I loved that gal and I am going to dearly miss her. I can only imagine how much her children will. I didn't expect her to go like this. For my own selfish reasons I wanted her to be with us for a long time. But God has a way of doing things that we can't begin to explain. I guess I could say He is a selfish God to take such a wonderfull and loving person from our midst but I know better. Heaven has one more angel and Armando is reunited with his beautifull bride. Je t'aime toujours ma belle et bien aimee' Lotti.
